What We Do As A PTA

Volunteers are always needed to make these programs happen. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the person listed with the program that interests you.

EVERYBODY COUNTS
Everybody Counts is a program designed to teach children about various handicaps and how children with these disabilities cope with them. The goal is to foster understanding.
Contact Dena Conover with any questions or to get involved with Everybody Counts.

SCIENCE ENRICHMENT
Science Enrichment brings fun, first-hand science experiences to our school. Program topics are introduced to grades K-4 and 5-8 with high-energy assembly presentations and are adapted for the grade level of the participants. Adult volunteers assist the demonstrator by guiding the students through hands-on activities that build upon the topics introduced in the assembly.
Contact Angela Kramer with any questions or to get involved with Science Enrichment.

TEACHERS APPRECIATION & HOSPITALITY
Three times a year the PTA sponsors luncheons for our teachers as a show of thanks and appreciation. These luncheons include: a Back-To-School Lunch, a Catholic Schools Week Lunch and an Appreciation Lunch during GA’s Teacher Appreciation Week in the spring. Volunteer cooks and bakers are needed!
Contact Kasi Gruber and Bobby Merrill for volunteer opportunities with Hospitality.
Contact Liz McElroy for volunteer opportunities during Teacher Appreciation events.

TEACHERS’ WISH LIST/ GENERAL REIMBURSEMENTS/ CONTINUING EDUCATION
We ask the teachers to provide Mr. Stoops with their wish lists. The PTA then works to fill as many of these requests as possible. In addition, we provide funds to reimburse teachers for general classroom supplies each year. The PTA also provides funds that are put towards teachers’ continuing education classes and seminars.

USED UNIFORM EXCHANGE

The PTA collects used, outgrown uniforms from GA families. The PTA will hold two used-uniform exchanges throughout the school year. PLEASE DO NOT hesitate to contact PTA if you have any uniform needs at any time throughout the school year. Uniforms must be in good condition (free from stains, holes), cleaned, and adhere to current uniform guidelines. Contact Becky Tiefenbach with any questions or to get involved with the Used Uniform Exchange.
