WINNERS of USA Patriot’s Pen Essay Competition
A unique essay scholarship program presented by USA Patriot’s Pen with a focus on character-building has selected area winners of the 2010 area essay competition. The program helps students build character and love of country through scholastic achievement. While promoting strong traditional American values, students were asked to write a thought-provoking essay on various themes that address the importance of patriotism. The competition encouraged students in the development of self-confidence, self-reliance, and good sportsmanship through written expression on a patriotic theme.
Schools in Greater Cincinnati were invited to participate and included: Forest Hills, Mariemont, Indian Hill, Loveland, Cincinnati Country Day, Milford, Miami Valley Christian, Summit Country Day, Mt. Washington, West Clermont, Seven Hills, Clermont Northeastern; McNicholas, Immaculate Heart, Guardian Angels, St. Veronica, St. Bernadette, St. Thomas More, local preschools and daycare centers, area churches, and home-schooled students.
School districts with the largest number of student participation and winners were: Clermont Northeastern, Guardian Angels, Mariemont, St. Veronica, and Home-schooled students.

Winning Essay Finalists receive a variety of awards depending upon placement and include: recognition certificate, ribbon, gift, and scholarship to be presented at the Recognition Program, July 10, 2010, 2 p.m., Anderson Center, 7850 Five Mile Rd., Anderson Township, 45230. Winners must be present at the Recognition Program to receive awards.
